Love embodies the feminine experience of being in love. Her youth and demure gesture suggest that this is a first love. The placement of the back of her hand on her cheek is a tender caress recalling her beloved. The veil of hair flowing over her hand and concealing her face from one viewpoint denotes that her thoughts are private.
